Posted this on Threads to warn people and got insulted, told I had mental issues. Well, yes, I do,but that doesn’t make the facts any less true. I have been posting less and less there and the end is near.
I only rejoined Facebook because my publisher said I had to and it's 90% garbage. I had to block literally hundreds of junk accounts and it took a month to get my timeline cleaned up.
Seriously? I can understand people using ArseBook because of its pervasive momentum, and also not really being aware of some of the crap that's pulled by it, but actively defending it?????
While it may help with election interference, let’s also consider that the influencer marketing market was valued at 21.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. If AI bots replace influencers (not that I’m a fan of them), the money goes directly into Meta's pockets.

It's always been a numbers game, pure and simple. And in that quest for more and more eyeballs, society's safety and security are mere collateral damage.
Serious questions. How would we know the difference between the new bots and ALL the other bots? Who can turn the bots on each other in infinite loops?
