“The 6th Circuit’s ‘background circumstances’ rule—which requires members of a majority group to satisfy a heightened evidentiary standard to prevail on a Title VII claim—cannot be squared with the text of Title VII or the Court’s precedents," the court rules.
So it sounds like they didn't rule that she was discriminated against, but rather that her case can't be thrown out due to not providing extra evidence that her employer usually discriminates against a majority group. If I read that right.
