For all the “why isn’t this the US rn” commenters, remember this👇 We’re a huge country! We need to rally in our state capitols and voting districts, and groups like @indivisible.org are working on it!!! ✊

At the end of chapter Trump I think Americans will come together. People are starting to realize they have been pitted against each other. Mislead and misinformed. Set up for losses. Our common enemies used to be "over there somewhere". The Kremlin is in the White House now.
That's not entirely correct. :) You need to adjust for how far north you are. You cant just copy the US and drag it over. :) You'd get a problem if you tried that with africa. :) The US should be a small speck in the middle but would cover almost all of it too.
Also Orban hasn't been in power just two months. Like look I know things are horrible here in the U.S., and yes I want Trump out of power yesterday, before he breaks everything.
shouldn't it be easier then, not harder? you have 50 states w multiple tens of millions of people all over the nation w/ their respective capitals/major city & it's all the same target for everyone: trump & elon government
not even 10 mil people live in hungary, look at their turnout
More YouTube videos reacting to reactions of the reactions to reactions are needed.
They own the engagement.
Trump tweets, Fox repeats, Rogan Repeats, Shapiro repeats and the cult does the rest.
And in DC. We need a million people in DC. We need leaders to organize the call. It can’t be one-off issue groups. It needs to be a national all-encompassing anti-Trump anti-Musk pro-Democracy protest.
Yep. The media is ignoring small protests. Or, beginning the story with "a small crowd protested some individual issue..." They need to have video of 500 crowds protesting the same thing. Or, a million people need to show up in one place.
Don't worry. When the economic depression enters the 3rd quarter (2026 summer), you will see rallies like this. A lot of people will be unemployed, starving, etc.
In the US for it to have this vibe, it would have to be in DC-- all of us. State by state is nice, but it doesn't have the same kind of visual and emotional impact.
Shift that map down a little, & for me to participate I'd have to travel from Ireland to Turkey, taking time off of my job, being able to afford plane tickets, food, & lodging during my trip, & have a return date booked unless i was willing to lose my job/house/car/health insurance etc.
Truth! Rallying in state capitals and various other places doesn’t have the same visual effect. But the anger, hate, and tribulations caused by the current regime are there.
They also have better mass transit. When I lived in Europe decades ago, I didn't need a car to go where I wanted. Their trains r even better now. We should be able to travel anywhere on a high speed train.
New York alone has almost as many people as the whole country of Hungary. And Hungarians have lived under authoritarian gov controlling practically all the media (thru finances mostly) for more than a decade. And Orbán has never tried actually setting the country on fire
So...
I wouldn't say he is groveling to him he makes nice with flattery because that is how world leaders need to play Trump. He is truly "The Emperor With No Clothes".
Look up the organization American Opposition, their end goal is coordinated protests in all states across the nation to ultimately defeat this regime. The founder, Carlos Alvarez-Aranyos delivered the speech of the decade imo. yesterday in DC, at the 14th Now!-protest for veterans.
Amen … and America has never been usurped by a Domestic lawless terrorist before. We are less than 3 months into this regime attempting to overthrow our democracy, Hungary 🇭🇺 has had this dictator in cahoots with Russia for quite awhile!
However, they are going for a very high levels of overall destruction here in the U.S. it seems. Hungary has some form of universal healthcare and here they are aiming to destroy Medicaid!!! I hope the sheer levels of destruction, brings it's backlash.
In our city we aren’t waiting. We protest 4 to 5 times a week and sometimes have 70 people, sometimes 2. We just keep getting out there hoping our numbers will grow. I don’t get what people are waiting for.
Especially here at Bluesky. The platform is great for general announcements. It doesn't do as well for coordinating local events. Perhaps local bulletin boards for real time communication.
It might help to some extent but, just not enough. When Vance came to Vermont coordination was largely through Reddit. People were able to share every detail of his trip from landing, to the route he was on, when he passed through towns, etc. We need that capability here.

There is a real issue. If we want thousands, like it should be, you've got transportation, potopotties, water volunteers, trash, etc. Huge events that are peaceful need planning. More than what we're getting. The small ones are good. But the numbers should be huge. So glad Trump's hero may go down.
The population of NYC is almost as large as the population of Hungary. Just because you have much empty space in between it’s not more difficult to organise in the cities and metropoles.
Yet we managed to mobilize in huge masses in 2017 when half a million women and men travelled to DC for the Women's March. A bunch of us from GA took a bus to DC and met up with buses full of women from all over the US. But we can't do it now?
I responded to the "people are likely discouraged" part. That's just an excuse for all those people. Change isn't easy or swift, but if all you can do is chip away, then we must chip away.
Wow you seem nice. In 2 months, it’s just sinking in to 77 million Trump voters that they were duped, and a South African Nazi billionaire is destroying their lives. Talk to us after 15 years of Orban-seque dictatorship.
Yeah but there's 70 million Democrat voters who have known for years.
Or 8 times the entire population of Hungary, to put it in other terms.
Its more than a little frustrating to watch, because some of us banned the fascists and their speech, and those who didn't, we marched and fought back.
Also, it’s been like this for what 10 years, that’s the truth, Orban has held onto power for quite some time, fracturing resistance to his regime, how much oppression will America tolerate?
MLK and others figured it out in the 60’s without cell/internet. Even the Jan 6’ers figured it out, with a combined IQ in the double digits. Surely others can figure out how to organize a peaceful but impactful anti-Trump protest…

Serious question
Just the population of NYC could drown DC in protest. Hell, the population of just fascist occupied DC could do this.
Americans do not yet have the will to fight the fascism occupying DC.
Even the folks who should know better are in willful denial about how bad the fascist Trump regime is… and how much worse it’s all going to get.
Mostly between the ears of MAGA voters...
not even 10 mil people live in hungary, look at their turnout
Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, and North Carolina.
If we want to win we need to win these Battlegrounds
You've been warned.

People need to wake tf up.
We NEED a General Strike! With only 3.5% of Americans it can be effective. Sign the card!

its an excuse for nothing much happening - about 2-300 protesting in NY
But: the more family/friends that lose jobs/careers/education/healthcare, the more that math starts to look like it won't work out
New Jersey alone has the same population as the country Hungary on an area less than 1/4th of the size.
There is absolutely zero reason you guys shouldnt be able to put up as large demonstrations in DC.
Or 8 times the entire population of Hungary, to put it in other terms.

"The revolution will not be televised" - we didn't know that was because we would be fighting against the folks who own television.
still waiting
Nothing has changed. Same dynamic.
We need a new party based on common sense, decency, honesty, integrity, transparency & most importantly accountability.
THAT party would save us for 247 years
