Same here; not H&S approved but well ventilated it's been fine, so far, so good (as he says, passing the 51st floor on his way down.)

You use binchotan indoors? Unless you have restaurant style ventilation I'd say that's a bad idea (you might have, I don't know)

definitely a good option. I'll hopefully have an outdoor space with a roof soon, so I can put my grills and smokers, etc under that with tables and chairs.

Nice; one of the things I miss about living in Spain and Florida is the all-weather aspect of the outside areas. You might find a gator strolling around in the latter but you could be pretty sure it wouldn't freeze :)
