It’s not just a “once in a lifetime recession” to be worried about, it’s a complete change of life. Mostly for women, but men as well. So many things they have lost/are losing, as this country descends into authoritarianism. You need to report more about this. People need to wake up.

That's a really good point: recessions were relatively regular occurrences, before governments and central banks decided around 2000 or so that they just shouldn't happen.

And yeah, as a younger Xer to parents of modest means who lived through a few, they aren't fun.

I don't know enough to say if that's good or not. I've heard arguments that the rich get richer during recessions, but the greatest growth in inequality since the 1920s happened in the 2010s.
