Depression, anxiety and other psychiatric conditions often go undetected and undiagnosed in patients. The neglect takes a significant toll on survival.

When I underwent chemo & radiation 7 years ago I was prescribed Xanax along with a raft of other meds, it was their standard procedure for all patients. Didn't end up using it, but they certainly were addressing the psych aspect as best they could. Stage IV survivor.
I deal with this daily since breast cancer took away by beautiful breasts. Three failed reconstruction attempts to try to look “normal” and then a fourth surgery to explant… the constant physical pain is suicide thought level depression..

I literally started falling from anxiety
Pulled myself together as I realized what was happening
And underwent successful treatment
