As a lapsed Catholic, he was the ideal Pope. He brought a sense of humanity to the church that it had distanced itself from for many years. He put Christ in the driver's seat where he should've. You could see the joy in his eyes when he was interacting with folks. He 'got it'.

Just haven't gone since I was a kid. Never completed confirmation. Now I'm married to a Baptist, though we haven't been to church really since Covid.

On the contrary, church can be wherever 2 or more are gathered in His name! So you and your wife can *technically*be considered "in church" whenever you pray together or read the Word or anything like that 🤗

And I'm not sure if confirmation is important to your faith or not but I personally believe denominations are superfluous and even detrimental. We're all one in Christ, no need to nit pick over beliefs that have nothing to do with salvation.

Thats how it works in organized religion. In Catholocism especially.
Confirmation isn't 'necessary' for salvation. It's one of the sacraments, proof if you would, that confirms to God your intent and dedication. Catholicism is filled with traditions. They openly admit they are traditions and not 1/

I don't think you have "lapsed". I would bet that you follow the teachings and hold truer to them as opposed to people who claim to be God fearing weekly church goers who are in fact worthless shits in how they act and treat others, ignoring the most basic teaching of "Love Thy Neighbour".

Oh, I have. Lapsed in the traditions and a such. Yes, the teachings are ingrained, and I do hold certain aspects above others. Mercy being the highest of all. I prefer to see things as such ' judgment is only for God' that IS a blessing😅
