I love how my children have so much more empathy than I did at their age. They all understand so much more about accepting people for who they are and will only become more empathetic as they age. I couldn't be more proud.

I feel like when I was growing up in the 80s/90s, empathy was considered weak or “feminine.” I felt empathy, but was discouraged from expressing or displaying it.
It makes me happy that kids nowadays have a support network that allows them to express what they feel with less judgement from peers.
Same. I was often told to "tough up" or "act like a man" and the motherfuckers failed to understand what acting like a man meant. At least I learned, even if it was the hard way, and could instill in my children basic empathy. As an 80s/90s kid myself, I relate so hard, man.
