Sports information mostly.
I have “Trump”, “Elon”, “Musk” & other obvious ones muted, so my timeline isn’t horrible, but the sooner all the sports accounts move over, the sooner I stop visiting at all.
Because for media, entertainment figures/celebrities, athletes (and their agents), marketing brands, politicians and others, the scale and reach of twitter is still (unfortunately) king of the road by a country mile. Nothing comes close.
I suspect the actual scale & reach of Twitter (currently known as X) is exaggerated by the fact that the media, politicians & brand PR wonks believe it has a country mile lead & react accordingly.
Without that re-amplification, the perception might reflect reality more closely.
I’m a brand on Twitter, with just over 1k followers. One thing I notice, I get more new followers on BlueSky, so growth is faster, at least in my experience.
To download your Twitter (now X) archive, go to Settings and Privacy, then Account, and select "Download an archive of your data". You'll need to verify your account and then request the archive, which will be sent to you as a ZIP file.
Meh. I'm as lefty as they come. Mute "Trump", "Elon", "Musk" and some other obvious ones, and it keeps the timeline pretty clean. Lists make it super easy to stay away from all that nonsense as well.
And that’s sad & disappointing.
I tried to stay for certain groups I was in but just couldn’t.
I’ve always been one to try and at least listen to the other side.
BUT that sailed with the 47 et, al thieving, ignorant but mostly purposefully cruel lot of beings.
Nothing comes close?
Bullshit. Twitter is barely in the top 10.
I haven't seen an ad from a legitimate company on it in over a year.
1. Facebook 3.65 bil
2. WhatsApp 2.78 b
3. YouTube 2.5 b
4. Instagram 2.04 b
5. TikTok 1.5 b
6. WeChat
7. Telegram
8. Snapchat
9. Kuaishou
10. Twitter 335.7 m
Seems like this proves the facade. There are waaaay better places for the above mentioned folks to reach audiences. I’d even argue that maintaining a twitter pressence is detrimental.

I mean think about it this is not how companies normally act, yet Twitter got them to come out of their comfort zone into the public.
The platform is secondary.

It never made money even when it was vital.
Obviously Musk doesn't care about the money. But it goes to show how perifieral it is to most people's lives.
looks like lost opportunity.
Trump supporter at a rally said word for word. “It’s the left-wing lunatics out to get him making up lies in the mainstream media.”
