I've always found it weird when creators, especially those of really good/critically acclaimed series, are unable to write good female characters
Or even straight up say "Yeah I dunno how to write women LOL"
Like that isn't something you wanna lightheartedly joke about as a writer man

-Look at wife.
-Look at several fictional ladies that I think are neat.
-Set brain on low in slowcooker for 6 hours.
-Serve bad bitch.
It makes me think of the discussions we've had around women characters and women as a whole for millenia. So many people mystify them in the weirdest ways, all to ignore the fact that they're just like us
Like I'm not even saying all your protags should be women and superduper important or w/e but the fact it's something you STRUGGLE with is just
If Oda has that "Women eat salad" misogyny, then Kishimoto definitely has that "Women belong in the kitchen" misogyny man
Like literally ALL the major women have some type of reliance on a male character it suckssss dude
That's how I've gotten this far anyways
People are able to write male characters good, but when they have to write a woman, suddenly it's "uhhhhh how do I write women?? It's so hard...." like what about it is so hard that can't be applied to male characters?
Nor being performative about it Like some creators are (like Neil Druckmann)
