There are two kinds of libertarians: Those who oppose the state because they reject hierarchy and oppression, and view the state as the main tool for imposing both, and those who oppose the state because they support hierarchy and oppression and view the state as the main barrier to achieving both.

Sometimes that means they profess to be a type 1 (the government should’t be able to stop me), sometimes type 2 (the government should ensure others can’t stop me)
Scratch a libertarian, find someone familiar with age-of-consent laws throughout the world.
I just kind of expect contact with type 2 libertarians to scare them off if they have principles
Anarchism is pretty close but without the “step on me corporate daddy” energy of libertarianism, have you considered that?
Democracy doesn’t work, capitalism doesn’t work, communism doesn’t work, fascism doesn’t work
What kind of world do you want?
I absolutely love how libertarians have the biggest “fuck your feelings” energy and the thinnest skin known to man
How do you think corporate power should be constrained in your utopia?
Everyone who doesn’t see how brilliant and good and smart you are is just an idiot
I think the 2nd type is way louder than the first type, and this is why a misconception exists.
The same is true, I find, for atheists:
There are those who want to be free of myth and prejudice, taking moral responsibility for themselves and their fellow man... and then there are Joker-esque nihilists who want to burn the world down without fear of consequence.
Those who don’t want to have to abide by anyone else’s rules and think it’s ok to feed the bears.
The kind who use the phrase “Personal responsibility” in conversation while refusing to take responsibility for consequences of their actions and choices.
