I suspect that Elon Musk liked the Simple Tax Reform (STAR) proposal because it is radically simple and at first glance appears conservative. However, STAR is but one plank of the broader Fair and Simple Tax Reform proposal (FASTR) that is also radically simple but decidedly progressive.
