I called my rep and senators and easily got through to a person and two answering machines, so we need to step it up if you can (trying to ask y'all nicely).

I PURPOSEFULLY asked one of the Republican Senators in my state for a WRITTEN response so there’s no ducking the truth they CHOOSE not to do their jobs in service of their constituents, state, and Constitution.
It’s easier than you think. Also check when they are up for reelection! It’s important they know you’re involved in your local elections as well as national.
I have reached out to my rep here on Bluesky and through their office. They are still silent. They have been silent this entire time. I understand that @gluesenkampperez.house.gov is in a purple district, but if she tries to run again, I'll be loudly reminding everyone of her silence.
Interesting. I've been calling for a week and only got through twice. Personally, I think my conmen, all Republicans, are hiding from their constituents. Out of curiosity, are your members of Congress Democrats?
Google them, you can come up with their website, if you will. I sent a message directly through it to my Senators. Course both GOP senators said they have a mandate and need to get Trump his cabinet ASAP. Going to have to reply to that nonsense, this stuff keeps me up at night.
The democrats answer their phones. I haven't got 1 actual person when calling Republicans. Except when I called the white house. They don't want complaints. But I have short term memory issues, so I'm sure I'll be calling again.
What happened when you called the White House? I can’t believe the White House page now. It’s like something out of fiction. There’s no contact information except X and Instagram. It’s almost like they don’t want to hear from you. And the text reads like nothing I’d expect from an American president
The woman who answered was nice. I told her I wanted to complain about how terrible the president is. She told me the number i called wasn't for complaints but I just told her my opinion anyway. They have another number for complaints but it's only available 3 days a week, I'm going to call today.
I did this on the last Hell Ride and it did nothing. Postcards, phone calls, peaceful protests… some of us are just jaded, exhausted and ready for something more.
I got through to a very nice human at Rep Ted Lieu's office this morning. Mom always said you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I got the information I needed.
Every other day twice a day, plus an email once a week. The emails seem to pack a better punch 🤛.They tend to get into better details and are willing to engage more.
I hear ya .. I called my rep and talked to his aids and he is co sign on several bills I told him I disagreed with .. I also told him I want Elon musk away from my personal info .. I wanted transparency and what he’s doing an led an investigation .
I believe it was Maryland Rep. Sarah Elfreth, who shared yesterday that... her phone was blowing up with constituent's calls all week —— but her Republican colleagues: Nothing, Silence, Zero Calls!!
I agree, if folks like us who are not lawyers and policymakers and journalists who can't do too much...we can be the best citizens and get the momentum to get our citizens out to vote.
I've been calling my Representative, he's GOP. I also emailed him this morning. My senators are both VERY vocal Dems. I haven't felt the need to reach out to them.
Just say it. Pride goeth before a fall. We’re all falling here. You have to learn to talk like them for them to hear you. Otherwise, I don’t think they consider you their constituent, although you are.
