Are they stripping the president of the ability entirely or just engaging in piecemeal repealing specific things. Because this whole exercise is largely pointless if congress doesn't become an active player in government again and keeps letting the executive and judiciary do everything without them.

Why are they wasting time on a new bill? They have existing law. The House can enforce it with a simple majority vote. These Republican Senators should stop all senate votes until the House votes on tariffs.

You know what could actually theoretically do it? Something we haven't heard about for a really long time--a bill that is passed over a presidential veto.

290 Representatives and 67 Senators would have to vote for such a bill to remove the tariffs (2/3 of both houses).
