I disagree with it being inexplicable. The pitching has been very good, especially the bullpen.

OK. Chalk it up to immediate post-game enthusiasm.
That said, I dont think any of us could reasonably have expected to lose 3/5ths of the rotation and continue to pitch this well.

They continue to win the close games they would have lost last year. And all this with a ton of injuries. Some special magic happening and it’s hard not to get excited
