The worse bit is that as an ex secondary teacher nothing in it surprised me. I found the school part quite triggering as well, I quit just before Covid hit. Behaviour then was getting quite scary at times. Despite the hardship I'm also glad I brought my son up without his fathers influence.

Series has only one unavoidable flaw. A govt school features. And some may believe that the horror of the story relates to socioeconomics and that private schools don’t have similar problems. Correct, because private schools are more dangerous because the stench of privilege is added to the horror.

We watched 3 of the 4 episodes last night- felt as if we’d been dragged over gravel. Absolutely brilliant acting, directing etc- completely compelling. Our (now 18yo) had a brief flirtation with Tate & his misogynistic worldview so this is a tale that needs to be told

It's brilliant. Not an easy watch but so compelling. The way it is filmed is absolutely amazing and really helps build the atmosphere.
Reminded me of The Virtues in how it left me feeling. Some of the same people involved, in front of and behind the camera.

Parts of it could certainly be used, if staff had the skills and knowledge to support pupils emotionally and psychologically with the impact. This rocked me even as an adult who works with children who challenge us. The last thing we’d want to do is traumatise them further.

It's incredible. Watched it twice and then watched making-of videos on You Tube. Stephen Graham deserves all the plaudits. Interesting interview I read with Jack Thorne saying that it couldn't have been made that way by the BBC or ITV because of costs. Sad state of affairs.

Me and the wife watched it all last night Reece. It was absolutely gripping tv. To see it be based around the family of the murderer and how it affects them and their lives is a tv first. The acting from the cast was brilliant. Some potential BAFTAS there me thinks 👍

There’s a few Q&A sessions (Digital Spy, Huff Post etc.) where they confirm that’s what they did. They aimed to film one episode twice a day for a week to use the best take, but yes - a mistake meant going all over again.

Just watched the last episode and I feel exhausted. Goodness knows how the actors felt after that.
