I find the way the media are worshipping with hushed reverance the whole Pope/Catholic/conclave/men-only/anti-abortion/anti-gay thing a bit wierd. Hour after hour, on & on. I've not heard one person in the media question Catholicism & it's beliefs? 🤔

I try hard to respect other people and their religious beliefs. I don’t have any of my own, as I recall the actions and behaviour of some of the nuns when I was at school. They were unpleasant and hid behind their religion.

Well you're not wrong! From a political point of view it has interest because of the influence the Pope has around the world but power and influence are always propped up by skeletons and in many cases 'tradition' could easily be replaced by 'cover up'. I doubt it will be addressed in my lifetime.

Bit snarky, Reece, you’re better than that. Many Catholics including myself absolutely deplore the Church’s failings and find them shameful, especially in human terms. But this is just about electing a Pope. The strength of anti Catholic feeling out there is enormous. But it is what it is.

No , I’m saying an unhealthy percentage of the people IN CHARGE of the Catholic Church, from its priests to its Cardinals, have been implicated in wholly unsavoury activities and behaviour and it would be disingenuous to say otherwise.
Maybe we have missed each other’s points in making our own. 🤷‍♂️
