Houses & buildings built on stilts in the Arctic are now collapsing from permafrost melting. Permafrost was the "ciment" supporting stilts: not supposed to melt.

Yes, they were young 11-12 maybe. Sneaking out to smoke cigarettes they stole from one of their dads. Should’ve been a benign little kid thing, instead they had to identify them by their teeth. Poor parents. The whole community was heartbroken (Bradford, PA mid 90s).
