Just curious, what religious practice forbids handshake ? Just had that encounter with someone who said they can’t shake hands for religious reasons and I felt bad 😭

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Did this person perceive you as a different gender as them? Some orthodox Muslims (and probably other religions, but they're the first who came to mind) will not engage in contact with non-related people of different genders.
Where is the pronoun label visible? I went to your page and didn’t see it. Is it one of those badge things like the one that tells you if AI images were used on a post?
Yes it's the badge thing. I have no idea how to get them to display on mobile or on desktop lol. I think they're off by default?
Apparently there are accounts of a type called labellers on BlueSky. You subscribe to one and like one of its posts to add a label to your own profile. E.g. @pronouns.diy
Because that’s just who I am as a person who , especially being marginalized & like to be mindful of culture & practices and usually do effort to learn , clearly missed something. I don’t adopt the white American mindset & views that don’t pay mind to peoples culture & practices. I care of respect
In Ultra orthodox Jewish communities, men and women (those not married to each other) aren't supposed to touch each other including handshakes. So depending on how they perceived your gender and how they perceive their own gender, this could be one explanation.
