I don't feel folks understand Bluesky fully, having dealt with the punishment/reward system of the other socials.
There is no algorithm here. If you don't repost it, few will see it.
So I am not sure I can use this place as a base for my journalism.

I want my work to be free and for everyone to be able to see it and share it.
As always.
But for serious issues it needs serious involvement.
It's hard enough getting people to press 'like' never mind pass on things that matter.
No idea what to do about it.
I put almost a year of work into newsletters via Mailchimp and woke up one day to them wanting hundreds of euros a year and no longer having access to previous work without paying them.
it's a jungle out there in chimpland.
my dilemma is a journalistic one, everyday 'civilian' posts are fine.
They understood that if they shared I'd not have to be edited or spiked by cowardly publications.
A good day could reach more than the mags.
you can have 1000 likes here, it won't get bumped up the 'rankings'.
the only way anything will reach outside our couple of mates is if it gets reposted.
'bad' for things that need reach that are probably work, ego or fame-related.
I'm going to try tho.
Since Musk the X algorithm is being used as a targeted weapon.
Which is why we are all here.
it doesn't matter how rich the quality is, you will not see it if people don't repost it.
it's nothing to do with the content.
it's the distribution.
