As usual the British gutter press is lying. There is no 'tourist ban' although I'd be all for it. There is merely a moratorium on new lets and new powers to deal with the thousands and thousands of illegal lets, most of which are foreign-owned.

'Tourism' as a whole is not the issue.
Are locals being ~aggressive? Seemingly not at all, they just want some control of their locale. Reasonable.
it's all about Air BnB really, not 'tourism' as a whole.
locals can't afford to live anywhere and their kids leaving school are fucked for their first place to live.
AirBnB is a great *idea*, but like most online stuff it's:
dump it out there with and we'll see what kinda mess it causes and then it'll (hopefully) be too profitable to bother addressing the flaws.
Hate to say it, but my mum was right about social media.
some doctors grouped together to build a sort of dormitory here as they couldn't afford rents.
plus the stories of 25 workers living in spaces meant for 4 like the Emirates.
Unlivable. Good people, unrealistic to live like that + be capable of getting sleep + working.
Don't get me started on care.
You know, just like the rest of us, including f-wit tabloid journos.
Hedge fund tendrils in the Spanish property market?
Colour-me shocked.
it's just good and healthy 'capitalism' when its average folks in the UK complaining their kids can't move out.
becomes a stick to beat Europe with when they can frame it as 'evil spaniards'.
Bath's terrible as are Bristol+Cambridge (in my personal xp).
Slow news day... distraction tactics, get The Scum readers riled up against Brexit again.
there's rich Londoners buying up 2nd homes all over the UK and then flocking to these places on weekends.
the domestic problem is issue enough before a single foreigner is in the mix.
same as 'immigration'.
too many Brits firstly.
