The Soviet Union was a terrible regime. Whilst the US was morally superior to pretty much any other country.
The US helped the rebuild of West Germany and West Europe and continued to provide security for more than the next 70 years.
They were successful in nation building in Germany and in Japan.
Was West or east Germany the better place to live?
Is north or South Korea the better place to live.
Are Japan, Germany and South Korea good democracies?
