This is the most blatant, "in-your-face" corruption I've ever seen. If it were Russia or some developing country, it wouldn't be a surprise.

Not sure about crypto, but my understanding regarding procurement contracts is that anyone with the rank of Agency Head or higher can issue a waiver regarding any disclosed conflicts.

Perhaps something similar happened here. And, of course, Trump also has pardon power.

I understand the frustration to reply to folks "are you surprised? Laws don't matter, silly goose", but it is corrosive, and naive on how politics works. Instead, call your Reps and ask them why they haven't spoken out. Tell your family & network that laws are likely being broken. They don't know.

My impression of "laws don't matter" is that it is short-hand for: Laws that are not backed up by physical enforcement do not stop people who don't respect those laws. That the current administration is comprised entirely of such people.

Yes, Musk is supposed to be a “special government employee” limited to 130 days. He is there 6-7 days a week but is only reporting working for 1 day per week. This sets him up to work for 130 weeks! Someone needs to seriously look at this NOW!
