Layering of more custom particle sim effects for motion and reactivity on top of the localized destruction + emission.
Don't be afraid to do weird incorrect math or break the laws of physics if the results look cool and the animation is pleasing to look at.

Most of this recent work that runs in godot is for private research and an unannounced game project.
My plans are to go into deeper implementation details and releasing some demo code after the game its used in is out
But can't help to be reminded by the Cinder killing Pyrrha scene in RWBY though...
