Not planning to directly address (toxic) masculinity in Monk WIP as I have only observed this phenomenon from the outside but a major part of Ciarán’s backstory is rejection of a culture that raised him literally to be a killer.

Another thing with Monk WIP is that Ciarán doesn’t have religious trauma but he has trauma from living in a warrior culture.
