Very much so. Ribbentrop, at the end, was outsmarted by Molotov. And despite all his other failings, Chamberlain was a gentleman, albeit a misguided one.

Exactly what I have said. Neville Chamberlain made a choice based on a flawed reading of the situation. Which in the shadow of WWI and given public sentiments at the time was reasonable (though catastrophic results). Ribbentrop / Molotov was cold hearted evil.

Chamberlain was quite aware that Hitler was dangerous. His basic moral compass was working. He just allowed the inevitable reckoning to be postponed, rather than faced up to. He was basically honorable, just a little out of his depth. Trump is far more like Hitler himself, but without intelligence.
