Whatever producer at CBC thought that having that traitor O’Leary on Cross Country Check-up was a good idea should be fired. And @ianhanomansing.bsky.social agreeing to it is even worse. No fact checking of his Trumpist talking points. Shameful.

"Listeners can fact check that claim online" he said. Hanomansing was so crass as to throw his producer under the bus by "thanking him" for this brainchild, which was "entirely his idea".
We need to act. This simply cannot pass. Not with all the disinformation being pushed by X, Meta and TikTok.
Why are we talking to O’Leary, CBC?
Read the room. O’Leary is not a person who has strong Canadian values.
He’s solely a capitalist who will happily sell out his wife or country for a buck.
Exactly -
that’s why it was a great idea for @ianhanomansing.bsky.social and CBC to put the show on. I also
heard Americans on there calling Trump a buffoon and expressing deep sorrow for his threats against 🇨🇦Canada.
WRONG. Giving him ANY airtime at all was just plain stupid. This is the level of tolerance exhibited by the Democrats in the US and look at where they are now. You're forgetting that he has supporters here. Our National broadcaster gave space to their voices when our sovereignty is under threat.
I still love CBC Radio. But I do question how much of their programming has shifted to cheap to produce call in shows where there’s no real journalism involved. Where there’s a false equivalency between expert opinions and ignorant opinions.
Both sidsing the bs question gives the impression it’s a discussion and it isn’t and never will be. I am livid he tried this bs for clicks or impressions. I want him fired or everyone fired. Pick!
I’m starting to think defunding the CBC maybe isn’t a bad idea. This whole thing was completely shameful! Make sure to drop a note to the CBC ombudsperson to let them know - https://cbc.radio-canada.ca/en/ombudsman
What if the CBC was funded enough it did not need click bait programming to keep up with funding?
Definitely a bad choice to highlight separatist voices.
Exactly what Pascale St-Onge proposed this week. Double funding to match those in most Western democracies. No ads during newscasts. Divorce the CBC from political oversight.
With all the disinformation being pushed online, it's our last hope.
Impartial academic oversight, absolutely. Like they do in journalism school. There is a right way of doing things and a wrong way.
The whole "lamestream media is fake news" BS really did a number on institutional journalism. It's about time we fought back against this orchestrated sabotage.

Boycott CBC
And Ian Hanomansing.
Canada strong 🇨🇦
Plenty of other good hosts and programs.
Definitely a bad choice to highlight separatist voices.

A lot of wisdom in her message to Canada.
