It's the old 'stealing our jobs' rhetoric.
I'm an immigrant working for the NHS. I don't remember stealing the job from anyone. I just happened to be the best candidate. Should I be discriminated against because of my nationality? Isn't there a word for that?

I'd love to see an MP trying to do a carers job. I doubt very much that they would last the full 12+hr shift that the majority do. As others have said, it's a vocation, it's not easy, and it's not great pay. Throw on top the amount of training that the sector/CQC ask for.

My Dad was in a pleasant care home in Surrey , 10 years ago,until he died. Even then he had a mixture of nationalities in his carers - including British,Portuguese,Filipino. They were all wonderful. It is a vocation for special people, not a ‘low-skilled’ job. Not just anyone can do it. I couldn’t.
