Smaller towns and cities in Germany have seen many more people take the streets with their demonstrations against the far-right. But it's a start and builds momentum. The more people see that people are taking to the streets, the more will be motivated to get out of their comfort zone to do the same
Though tbf, a lot of those people wouldn't have been Londoners and would have traveled in for the protest. Maybe that's not practical in America and they just protested somewhere else?
🎯I live near White Plains, a city ~30 miles north of NYC. There were many in the streets there and surrounding towns. Getting to and from Manhattan is famously a pain that may have just resulted in the overwhelming of our old commuter rail system.
Thank you - yes. The US is a big country. Protests overall were huge across the country. People are angry & mobilizing. There will be more & larger groups. April 19
I was going to say that. Well done to all the people who went but what's the population of NYC and the surrounding area who travelled in? It's a scratch.

For contrast there were 1.5 million people in London's Iraq war protest (2003, population 7.4 million) , New York has a population of 8.5 million.
