Besides buying for yourself, buy one or two to out in a Little Free Library near you. We buy frequently from used bookstores and put books in them. Some used, some new.
The results depend on a lot of things. Which language are they written in? Can you understand the language they're written in. Was the book taken to the lavatory by George Costanza? Do the books exist in 4D space and were written by deities that don't conform to Euclidean geometric conventions?

Still waiting for them to be delivered π
Definitely! I'm trying to rebuild my home library (long story) & visit thrift stores to rescue books.
I still buy new books but owning pre-owned classics feel better
