And part of the analytical problem here too IMV is how the US DoD and MIC are still held up as benchmarks for European military progress, when in reality the Europeans can't and shouldn't emulate US structures that are designed for a different set of strategic challenges

It's not about gaslighting ourselves. It's just bloody hard to turn these things around. Sure, you want to do more, even buy more European but hey you've already signed that contract for US mil stuff (expensive) and also everything is still integrated with US and so on

I think after a certain point rushing things too much in the context of European integration can become counter-productive. Structures need to fall in place piece by piece. And that needs time
