Thank you Robyn! It was neat to be under this deep red light similar to a film dark room, and then to see a red rain curtain buildup. I immediately turned my attention towards it of course. But within a few minutes I had to flee the ridgetop as lightning was approaching fast .

Thank you so much, J! As it appears in the photo, I am on top of an exposed ridge, easily the tallest object. Rain curtains and lightning are beginning to form all around. As a matter of fact, I was starting to get rained on, too. So after just a few minutes, I had to quickly retreat off of there.

Thanks so much! It was definitely a memorable moment. I captured three separate photos of lightning strikes before retreating off the ridgetop. One of the photos was in between lightning strikes in the rain curtain. It appears even more red if you can believe that.

Thanks, Katina! This was an hour after ground level sunset. Everything was illuminated by the ambient red light. The yellow sand of the foreground ridge became a burnt orange. In the gloom, I could see the red rain curtain start to form. I aimed that way and captured three separate lighting shots.
