Glad you see that remaining possible, I’ve been part of some groups / associations of women since I transitioned and been welcomed very lovingly - like a creative writing group or a climbing club. They have no interest in excluding trans people, but the EHRC are painting it as unavoidably mandatory - ThreadSky

Obviously as you say politicians ought to stop bowing to a court’s attempt at statutory interpretation & pass law that says what they want to happen, but I fear now is a poor moment for that to make a positive difference. When European courts invariably make them, it’s going to be like pulling teeth

It’s a shame that the current unsayable yet obvious statement for a Labour minister seems to be ‘no clearly the equality act with its protections for gender reassignment was not supposed to be a comprehensive national trans bathroom ban, and we’ll fix it’

The EHRC has overreached in Falkner’s haste. If they go ahead with these proposals the article 8 challenges will come thick and fast - and not just from trans people, but gender non-conforming cis women who will also inevitably be affected.
