Oh it's really not so bad first you just need the $80 core rulebook (downloading FAQs and addendums of course) then you need a $60 copy of your respective Armies codex in physical form which is the only way to get access to the digital copy then you need $60 for Warhammer Plus to gain access to upda
Have I got good news for you. The rules change every quarter and every half year there's a big change they call Seasons like video game battle passes then every 4 years is THE BIGGEST CHANGE with a new edition where you have to forget everything you knew before. No one knows the rules not even GW!
Imagine if every 4 years Wizards of the Coast changed Trample, Vigilance, Flying to mean completely different things and changed card text all the time! Thought you knew what Negate does? Wrong! It now generates 1/1 tokens!
Which armies? You might be able to sell them after painting, I know there's a lot of people who'd be more than thrilled to buy/commission paint jobs from someone else rather than paint them themselves!
I've gotten a bit into gunpla recently and they're really fun to put together and neat to look at for a bit, but after awhile they're just things that sit on a shelf and are a pain to dust off when I'm cleaning.

You could probably do commission work tho? That's good for painting stuff up then moving it along as getting a little $ on the side.
You're supposed to just amass them
And I play Magic the gathering, I’m a fool once already.
I mean MTG has rotation but it’s at least baked into a continuous treadmill.
