Chauvin did also plead guilty to federal charges, so Trump can pardon those… but that just means he’d serve out the rest of his sentence in state prison instead of federal. I’m not sure he’d even want that.

But this is good news for Minnesota! I would rather have him in a state prison for murder than a federal prison for civil rights violation. He took a plea deal with the feds to stay out of state prison. Let’s see how he likes being in isolation in a MN state prison!
