There’s a reason that countries buy things from other countries:
-they can’t grow something;
-it’s cheaper to buy it elsewhere than manufacture it at home;
-shortage of materials (eg crude oil)

For some context, Florida has a native wild coffee plant, we had them in our yard. Native Americans did brew a “coffee” but understood it was bitter and no caffeine. What’s coffee without caffeine? Maybe someone can figure how

It's called chicory. They drink it in the south. It's not bad...Mostly they cut it into real coffee anymore. I can see Starbuck's and Peets attempting to brew a chicory blend and selling it for $6/cup. ahhh no.
