Yes. They are going to allow it. Until… something breaks. Watch for eventual failed payments on US debt to send a fair number of Republicans into reconsideration of this illegal setup.

Thank you for the 101, didn’t understand DOGE’s place in US gov. Even with a role of providing advice & recommendations, so outrageous that it’s being led by a major gov contractor & major campaign funder. I guess the (rightful) concern over Clinton Foundation & pay-for-play was 800 years ago.

I don’t think it’s that simple. Trump renamed the United States Digital Service (a unit of the EOP) to the United States DOGE Service and installed DOGE under it. So it is an official part of the White House and possesses whatever authority Trump delegates to it.
