SCOTUS shouldn’t be appointed solely by president & only people who are able to make bipartisan decisions based on case law & precedent not constitutionalism or other non judicial doctrines should reside & this should be tested against their rulings as should malfeasance so time limits help

Most constitutional courts (all?) in developed countries are term-limited.
In Germany it is a single term of 12 years, and there is mandatory retirement at 68 on top of that, regardless if there is still time left in the term. It takes a 2/3 majority of BOTH the lower house and the Federal Council.
If a President can only serve two 4 year terms, then that should be the limit for everything in the Federal Government. SCOTUS should be voted on by the people too, not appointed by a President.
Term limits are a good idea, but I like min/maxing ages, personally. Maybe a combination of both would work better, but this gerontocracy crap has to stop
I like the idea of a mandatory retirement age. Still think there should be term limits - but not just a few years - maybe 10. Whatever is put in place, we need a way to keep corrupt judges from staying in power and better oversight of how they’re chosen and where they get their money or “gifts”.

i also like the idea of being required to spend 2 years as a public defender before being eligible for any judgeship
