Playing a door is all about nuance. How fast do you open? Do you have a handle? Do you resist a little as if you need greased? Do you creak? How loudly? What kind of click do you make when you close?
Not that I have any experience in this area, of course π
What school of method acting specializes in doors?π
ps. Just watched "Hell To Eternity" over the weekend. A nice surprise seeing you in it (I'd never seen the film before). Appreciated the Star Trek connection involving you+Jeffrey Hunter. Was your role difficult, considering Tule Lake, etc.?
When I was a child, our Nativity organizer said that if we already had an animal costume, we could appear as that animal. I had a nice one from Halloween. I was the only kangaroo at the birth of baby Jesus.

Also I'm surprised nobody's chimed in with Hodor/Hold the Door jokes yet. π€
Thus have I, Door, my part discharged so,
And, being done, thus Door away doth go.
And if she closes... who plays the window?
