People just want attention really bad. Hey, if you want attention why not try doing something to make the world better. It will take a while and I know immediate gratification is the American way, but try it and people won't be pissed at you.
Pissed isn’t the right headline for anyone on tour who has fans willing to pay $100’s of dollars for a concert with 1 person willing to commit a crime to hurt the star.
Society has sickos who think nothing of paying a lot of money to shut down concert or athletic events
It's just boorish. I remember Smashing Pumpkins in '96 when an idiot threw a glass bottle at D'Arcy (I cannot recall if it hit her) during end of the opening song (Tonight, Tonight) and Corgan had him as his friends thrown out.
Artist should stop playing until perpetrator evicted. I'll never understand why you'd want to potentially injure the artist you're paying good money to see and support
Fully. Why do "average" people think they deserve to be famous.
Narcissistic nascent stalker
My concern with my suggestion is that the crowd might turn on the perpetrator and Lynch them. (Maybe more at metal gigs) I've been at a few where the artist got the person evicted
Sorry, couldn’t resist. Love Billie. Went to her concert and was actually surprised when she sat and was so intimate with the crowd during that song. Made me nervous. Now I know why.

I wonder how fast this behavior would stop if the performers habitually stopped the concert or made sure there was a significant delay. I suspect throwing shit would become taboo right quick.
If this ever happens at a metal gig the fans turn on the offender end off, it shouldn't happen ever & the people need turned over to security & charged
I think that comes from some deep lizard-brain type of behavior where when you love someone intensely, the thing you desire most is for a connection with them. It's sick thinking, for sure, but I sort of think about it the same as your least-favorite auntie that always pinched your cheeks as a kid.
I think fans have to realise that they are metaphorically “seen” by the artist and not literally seen by them. The narcissistic behavior of some fans is getting out of hand. No. You don’t get to be part of the pop star’s story. You are a passive audience member. Stop throwing your “gifts” on stage.
Sometimes we forget how many a-holes there are in this world. And the percentage is growing for whatever reason. And the a-holes are acting out more than ever 😡
Etiquette is devolving at concerts, movie houses & play theatres. Went to see Adam Driver in NYC for his play Hold On To Me Darling. Saw similar lack of boundaries happening from approaching stage, touching, filming, yelling, etc. Also saw times where everyone got it right = good time had by all!
She is so classy and sets a great example for everyone else, handled this like a pro (no storming off the stage like Morrissey does at most concerts haha). The only time she stops the show is if she notices someone in the audience has fallen or needs assistance.
No matter how they try to spin it, it's assault on a performer, she's well within her right to not only "look pissed", but have the assailant charged and convicted...
It is more than personal space it is assault, in this case I think it was supposed to be a gift, as someone immediately said sorry. If you are going to throw something on stage (which is not recommended) make it something soft like a stuffed toy or a balloon.
Part of it, IMO, is also chronically-online culture and thinking you can disrespect people anonymously in real life. The thrower probably thought they're one face in a sea of people. I really don't understand it, but folks like this deserve to be arrested or at least get their ass beat.
It’s acceptable at a punk show. That’s just the scene (maybe not one of those arena “punk” shows🤷🏼♂️I’m talking real though, not those) but yeah, no—not cool to do to someone who’s not pushing that scene, let alone experienced with it.
Maybe they aren’t that wild anymore, I need to go to a show.
Back in the day, when I was at a Prism concert, a few idiots in the crowd started pelting the stage with coins during the song ‘nickels & dimes’ & the lead singer went ballistic 👀 rightly so 🤦♀️
This is not how you treat anyone, let alone someone you admire. This shows a lot character to continue the show tho. And that she actually sings at her shows unlike others.
Well George, apologies have been long overdue. I bumped into you near Columbus Circle back in 2016 in my haste to go get crepes. I didn’t even stop to apologize or get your autograph. Sorry!
At one of Billie's shows at the Inglewood Forum on her Happier Than Ever tour, someone threw a shoe at her and it landed on her left side within a few feet of her. She shouldn't have had to say "Don't throw things at me.", but she did.
The one that is trying to charge a guy with terrorism for killing a CEO, but won't charge someone who has a pro replacement theory manifesto and kills 11 Jews at a Synagogue with Terrorism.
That is not a just response. As disrespectful as the act of throwing trash at her was, that person did not injure Billie. This person does deserve to be publicly shamed and shown that that behavior is not acceptable, but not killed, that's ridiculous.
Perhaps. But we are no longer in a just nation and examples MUST be made. Forgiveness is a pre-Trump Democrat/liberal thing we MUST abandon if we are to survives the next cycle of fascist violence. WE ARE AT WAR. Fight or Flight and there is NO PLACE to fly TO. (But I do agree that I overreacted.)
Throwing something. EVEN A CREAM PIE.. Is assault. a crime. and if you hit and cause even the slightest injury..... It is worse.. And the person doing the throwing deserves some quality time to reflect on their criminal act (prison).
I have never been to a concert, but I do realize that when you buy a ticket for a specific event, you have the right to watch and enjoy, but not the right to be a part of the action. Just enjoy the show.
I was at the Skinny Puppy show in 1988 where someone threw a bottle from the crowd and hit Dwayne in the face with it. Needless to say, they stopped the show and Ogre (vocalist) called out the person that threw the bottle but no one admitted or called out that other person. Stupidity is everywhere.
It's not a big deal. Whoever wrote the headline wanted to tie the look to what happened and that's what they came up with. A better headline would be performer is assaulted on stage by thrown object, but the headline is to bring eyeballs to it.
I can find many, MANY women who can contradict that... if it was a man, the word describing her face wouldn't have been demeaning - a man would have been 'determined', or 'stern'
I had the same thought. Unless you’re a professional sportsballer, looking pissed when someone throws something at you while you’re working is pretty normal
I remember at a Lamb of God concert someone threw a beer bottle (not at the stage, just randomly up into the crowd) and Randy the lead singer stopped the show until security found the guy and threw him out.
I don’t know AZ law but in general hitting someone with an object by throwing it is illegal. It is a form of battery just like punching a person.
If you miss the person it could still be considered assault.
Bc misogyny. ‘Bitches can’t take a joke’ mentality. This is how assault and battery against women, for the crime of existing, continues to be normalized
I remember seeing David Lee Roth in concert in the late 80s in San Diego and some asshole was throwing lit firecrackers at the stage. One nearly exploded in Steve Vai’s face. Pretty sure security found the culprit and beat the crap out of them. Sad that this idiocy still exists.
I was super impressed at how Billie shrugged this off and continued performing. I would have stopped the show and removed them. Ignoring assholes like that is certainly an effective strategy. I bet she realized in that moment the thrower would be ostracized and shamed for this action. She is grace.
This is nothing new, unfortunately. Remember the time Bowie got a lollipop in the eye in 2004 during his Reality Tour? This pic IS NOT photoshopped btw.
Let's stop assaulting people. Throwing things is assault, full stop. And it's toddler-level assault. I hope the person responsible was duly taken to task.
In all honesty, this trend is as old as fans pelting George Harrison with jelly-beans at 1960's concerts (he had mentioned in an interview he liked 'em).
I hope folks will take your well-taken thoughts to heart, but the history ain't good here.
Celebrity worship is out of hand in this country. I mean, Musk and Trump aren't where they are because they are good at what they do.
Even this clown, with his "just trying to get her attention", WTF, she doesn't owe you anything but the show you paid for.

Van Morrison walked offstage once ‘cause audience was talking during his set. (Dallas)
1978 Eagles warned the audience if there was one firework set off that was it. End. Of. Concert. (Ft Worth)

Besides trump-flu?
Conservatives made this environment. Their guns, their trump-like rhetoric, their inability to govern except for their need to peek into bathrooms.
Conservatives are parasites. Entitled-ism is a disease.

Assault a CEO or billionaire? You are FBI’s most wanted.
Just having a bad day, I apologize. I was/am going over the top, for no good reason.
Deep breaths. Deeep breaths...🙃
Maybe an assassin thrown object.
Mother's didn't raise them right and everyone else is supposed to suffer?
Why do you *want* to piss off the artist you paid hundreds of dollars for a ticket to see?
If it was a man, it wouldn't have been news.
