GQP has dominated the airwaves for decades pumping their propaganda. They’re buying up Spanish speaking stations now. Outside of Air America (defunct), Dems vacated the field.
Secret lies to buying up radio stations, then they just run bulk program across everything they own. That's how clearchannel/iheart radio made Rush Limbucks
That chart was actually made for Canadians so we can choose Canadian products instead of US ones. I don’t think most of those are available south of the border.
I’m in Canada and some of these items are not even easy for me to find in grocery stores.
The American stuff is ubiquitous. Couldn’t even find Canadian-made relish this week!
While not intentional the wife and I were surprised how many of these made in Canada products we normally consume vs. their American counterparts prior. I'm sure others are noticing as well. Yet listen to Drump talk you swear we'd all perish without American goods. Hope this craziness is short lived
This is great. However this is exactly what Trump wants. We should be buying US and supporting our own- but I’m not doing this with glee. We should have choice.
OK, but only 2 or 3 catégories out of all of them are really healthy and useful. Unless they are producteur locally, and fresh. So Cola, Mayonnaise, really....
Great list EXCEPT for the President's Choice products. The Galen family has been ripping off Canadians since forever! They were boycotted all last year! Another greedy billionaire family who can never have enuf money!!
Shop at ALDIs if you have one nearby. Their products are great and their prices are cheaper than standard stores.
Bring a quarter for the cart and if you see an empty box, grab it to pack your groceries in.
Fortunately, it's only about a mile away. This is a great alternative. Buying Canadian goods that are now 25% higher is not a reasonable solution for real Americans, struggling paycheck to paycheck.
If I have a bunch of quarters in my car, I'll leave mine in the cart for the next person.
Maybe you can also recommend entry level employment for those of us who are stuck working for these companies just to keep a tiny roof, in a tiny apartment over our heads?
Either that, or you can wake up to the real world.
Hey, I get that this might not be something you can do, and that’s okay. But some people can take action and make an impact. No one’s blaming you—we just don’t want things to stay business as usual. So if you’re frustrated, direct that energy at Trump, not at those offering ways to help.
I was going to buy my groceries from there, later today. It looks like it doesn't matter where I go, my money is going to be in the hands of The Orange Turd's allies by the end of the day.
We have a local grocery chain that leans heavily left, wegmans, but yeah, hard to find places where I want to spend my money. I'm looking at local farm stands. Our only local grocery unfortunately went underast year 😞
For all those questioning why Canadian, Trump is trying to drive Canadian companies out of business by raising their prices via taxes while forcing the CAD government to do his bidding. It’s double evil.
Doesn't apply to us, thanks for the effort though. Just buy local, buy seasonal, or don't buy at all. That said if I could get my hands on some Green Beaver toothpaste... maybe Costco will pick it up! 🤞
Fun* fact**: In the "Handmaid's Tale" TV series, Hardbite potato chips (especially ketchup) were shown as the default potato chip for scenes taking place in Canada.
*Mileage varies depending on, how many parallels you see between this administration and Gilead.
man, i live in Texas. i am not buying Canadian tortilla chips when perfectly good Mexican tortilla chips exist. how are Cheetos even tortilla chips? i can think of one reason to boycott Cheetos, anyway.
Cheetos aren't tortilla chips. I'm Canadian and have never heard of using them this way. We have Que Pasa tortilla chips made with stone ground organic corn.
Cheezies are better than Cheetos if you want that type of snack.
It makes sense to buy Mexican if you're in Texas.
Honestly, I’m not sure what we will do. We already buy American products, except for Tim Horton. We will probably continue to buy their coffee, unless it is ridiculous high. The thing is, Trump can claim victory because he’s getting all this extra tariff money, if we buy Canadian.
Tim Horton’s is not 🇨🇦 for almost 20 yrs. Now part of RBI along with B King, Popeye’s; offices in TO, formed 2014, itself owned by 3G Capital in NY, US mgmt & Brazilian billionaires. Franchisees & corporate stores, employ temp foreign workers, labour issues. Second Cup is 🇨🇦, owned by Foodtastic in QC.
I would probably give Starbucks a pass. Republicans have been targeting them for years for being too liberal. Liberals are so reactive sometimes that they turn their backs on allies fir no reason.
Yeah, but then whittle that list down more with @goodsuniteus.bsky.social to find out where are their contributions go too! You can't avoid everything depending where you are, it's more of a challenge but I am going to do whatever I can to support blue and totally refuse any Co. that supports red!
I would love to but unfortunately I don't know if any of these are at the grocery store.
I could look them up online though and see if it's affordable.
as long as I can afford it, and I'll even take a hit but I got to be able to feed my family.
I'd like to recommend that, for your ground coffee needs, you consider a company that actually supports independent news organization: @philipdefranco.bsky.social and his https://wakeandmake.com/ - the medium is my favorite! #wakeandmake #philipdefranco #independentnews
But if we buy Canadian alternatives aren't we giving tax dollars to the Trump government so they can fund their tax cuts? I want to help Canada too but buying the Canadian stuff helps Trump just as much
Tariffs are usually meant to disincentivize buying from a country, not to generate revenue. I mean, that said, I totally get the aversion to giving Trump more money than absolutely necessary, but I don’t think this would end up being a W for Trump.
Just an FYI, covered bridge is a local to New Brunswick company that suffered a devastating fire in March 2024 and started reproduction a month later. They are truly an example of Canadian Strength. They make delicious chips sourced from Canadian products. I highly recommend their Storm chips.
Also Chapmans ice cream. They’re proudly Canadian and were incredibly supportive of their staff financially through the pandemic shut down (and before and after that)
And for everything else there is this awesome website a Canadian teen made on how own back in 2018 when Trump first started tariffing us. A great resource.
Remember with labels, 'Product of Canada' means >98% Canadian while 'Made in Canada' is >51% Canadian
A whole LOT of them are rethinking their travel plans this year I gotta tell you. Hang in there. Can't last. But Canadians are fixing to FUCK SHIT UP right now.
Thanks George. Not sure who prepared this but It's full of mistakes. For example, Vanhoutte was purchased by gree mountain coffee Roasters years ago - now Keurig Dr Pepper.
From what everyone says, this is list is for Canadians. Does everyone understand that Tariffs are paid by the importer/end recipient? Not the country of origin. So when Walmart imports from Canada, Walmart pays. But then passes the extra to the consumer because why would they “cover” that. Correct?😳
In the UK but just removed Philadelphia from my grocery order and replaced it with a UK alternative - can't substitute Canadian but I can try to avoid US brands
I think all countries need to do this. Trump thinks the US is too big to get hurt. Maybe one country alone can't win but he & his cult should see the world will not stand for this kind of behavior. If we let him do it to 🇨🇦 & 🇲🇽, he's going to keep on using these tactics against everyone .
As an Aussie, I try to buy local products, simply to avoid carbon miles. Because of Trump's stupidity, I will certainly rethink some of the US-owned items on the list. I imagine he'll eventually impose tariffs and other measures on Australia (if he figures out we aren't Austria).
Remember that orange buffoon. Not everyone here likes or agrees with what he has done or is doing. Je is driving us into the ground. My kids anxieties are up and so are mine. I fear for my children safety now more then ever.
I know..... I really haven't looked into it seriously but it's warmer than Canada and I just have always loved the people there. But I have my 89-year-old mom and my daughter and granddaughter that are here. But I just wish at times that we could all just pick up and leave.
I'm talking about living there possibly... I've never been to Cabo but I hear it's very nice but not inexpensive from what I've heard. I'll probably just end up traveling here and there until I can't. Just frazzled by all that has occurred
I can support Mexico with alternatives but unfortunately not Canada. Missouri doesn’t like Hispanic individuals yet we care a lot of Hispanic foods 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
There are some inaccuracies here. Cavendish products are mostly grown and packed in the maritimes. Tim Hortons is no longer Canadian owned, many products listed are manufactured in Canada. We’re so interconnected we never gave much thought to these things. Check the labels. Look for Made in Canada
I went through my cupboards today and was shocked at how many of the items that I habitually buy are produced in the US. This is a real learning experience for me. Will be making a LOT of changes.
Canadian here, not asking Americans to waste their money for our sake. Remember, if you buy this Canadian stuff, you're paying the tariff that helps Donald Trump
Maybe take your next vacation up here, your dollar goes very far, and if we know you don't like Trump, we will be nice.
My husband and I plus 12 family/friends will be heading to Whistler on Sunday. I can’t not wait to get back there and I don’t even ski.
Question…how do I let the Canadians know that I’m not with him without scream it at the top of my lungs?
I’m within driving distance and look forward to visiting you soon! Was in Quebec just before Christmas, had a wonderful time. Happy to spend my vacation money there!
I will continue support companies in Blue States that have good policies. I live in Oregon and there are a number of excellent choices, so I'm afraid I do not entirely agree with Mr. Takei.
I second that! Canada is an amazing country, with wonderfully generous, funny, and friendly people. I lived there for 3 years and loved every second. Even the frigid Manitoba winters.☺️❄️🍁🇨🇦
I wish I could obtain a passport to go up there, but depending on certain debts, and me being poor I cant even get a passport..My family vactioned there when I was a teen we had a camper went to Wonderland, Casa Loma and sight seeing for 2 weeks
Love this. I live in Oregon and am planning a trip to your beautiful country. Been there before and can't wait to come back. Way more of us hate Diaper Don than like him 😁
Just warning you that you're going to have to get used to that questioning look, maybe just get a t-shirt when you cross the border that says " it wasn't me. I tried to stop him"
I went into the states on the night of January 31st, the US border guards were acting. Very strange.
I was born in Canada and while I now have US citizenship I am very tempted to call them and ask if they will take me back. I never actually lived in Canada. I was just born there. But it looks really good right now.
The tariffs are only a short term gain. The big gains are to shut down Cdn businesses and make them move south, and also crash your own economy so you and cronies can scoop up cheap stocks, release the tariffs, and enjoy the boom.
Seattle here and we love visiting Vancouver, Victoria and enjoy fishing your beautiful lakes. We will continue to do so. Did I say we are sorry for the clown?
When I feel that it is safe to fly, I am definitely vacationing in Canada. I have been twice and loved it. I have many Canadian locations on my bucket list.
Would love to. My husband and I are looking forward to visiting Whistler. But yes people, do your homework and be mindful of why you are doing sometimes we react and in the long run is hurting people and helping the orange clown 🤡.
You’re absolutely right IMO. By actually buying the exported product here in America, you’re actually paying the tariffs which in turn play into paying the government. I personally love Canada; have been to Vancouver and Toronto and loved them both so, I can’t wait to get back and support local.
I think this is less about Americans supporting us Canadians, and more about us Canadians supporting ourselves, personally. Pretty sure not that many Canadian food products get on American shelves outside of border/near-border states.
Almost none of these are locally available. I will stock up today and Monday. Then BUY ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for as long as I can. I still need to heat my house and drive my car (government employee mandated to return to the office) but I’ll pack my coffee and lunch made with what’s in the cupboards.
Yeah, I had to look that one up. I'm not 100% sure on all the others, and sugar is going to be a tricky one, even if Redpath is a Canadian company. If it's cane, it's probably not grown in Canada. If it's beet, there's a decent chance it is.
Companies are people. They have more power and $$. Hurt them and congress will take action. You are a sick puppy because it’s clear who you think are “people”
Why purpose would be served by a boycott of US manufacturers? They aren’t going to oppose tariffs in there competitors They can’t wait to raise prices when the foreign companies’ goods cost more That’s the tariff fallacy it’s not just the imports that go up in price
Totally agree . Whenever you can.
But to correct some companies I think
Yoplait is a french company who had general mills as shareholder whom sold to french Sodiaal
Nestlé remains a multinacional Swiss company.
I am all for boycotting companies that support the 🍊, but can someone explain how buyng canadian products will hurt his administration? I admittedly don’t understand economy that well but, if they are putting tariffs on them, the government will get more money from us buying their products, right?
Our US economy is being “forked” over by the idiot in the Oval Office. What we Americans need to do is push back, get our elected officials to start flexing their equal branches of gov’t power to reign the wannabe dictator in. Economic pain might activate our duped citizens to wake the fork up!
Canadians will have to buy Canadian. If Americans buy Canadian or Mexican we will support the tariffs. Buy local, buy stuff from blue states, as much as you can.
I’m in a 💙 state but it’s not all 💙 Vetting local product some companies aren’t giving a clue. Maybe out of fear that one side will be totally offended (me) and not make purchases for condiment type product, jellies, jams, mustard, dressings. etc. I buy bulk to cover shipping and not driving.
Support Pro DEI companies: Apple,Costco,Bank of America,Delta,J PMorgan,MicrosoftProcter&Gamble, Goldman Sachs
America airlines,Southwest Airlines,United Airlines
Catholic Health
Even if some people would like to support Canadian products, the majority can hardly make both ends meet. We should instead boycott pro trump and elon musk’s businesses
Just to let you know there has been a boycott against Weston owned business going since last spring. So no to Superstore or their affiliates. And Tim Hortons is no longer Canadian and hasn’t been for ages.
They support Trump.
The owner has over 400 properties in Florida.
Their lobbyist is the manager of the conservative party.
She is paid millions per year to keep his grocery prices high.
Yes we will. The good news is that many provinces are removing US beer, liquor from shelves and our own brands will benefit. In Ontario alone that is $1 Billion lost sales per year for the US producers. Other provinces are doing the same.
I support you. I live in a small beachside community in Florida and we love our Canadian Snow Birds. Hmm, perhaps we chuckle at you wearing bathing suits on the beach 🏖️ when we are wearing sweatshirts. However I have never met a Canadian out and about that isn't lovely. I once brought a couple home
It was right when COVID shut everything down. The restaurants were all closed. I met them in the grocery store. My husband thought I was nuts until he found out that they were Canadians. We had a lovely dinner and a couple of bottles of wine
Believe it or not half of us are trying to boycott American goods and services as well. If we can organize and target one big corporation at a time, we can hurt them. It’s going to happen.
Living in a country led by an 80-year-old toddler, I support Canada, and Mexico in avoiding products from here, the USSA. I have a growing list of American corporations I will not patronize. I wish you all success! In solidarity ✊💙
Do it! We support you! Shut off our electricity too. The assholes who voted for this asked for it and are in complete denial that it is happening right now.
It is going to take an actual hit to get any of them to wake up.
Not true. Most US patriots are smart enough to understand that not purchasing US products ends up hurting US employees. When US companies profits go down, it is US employees who end up losing their jobs. Sorry, but I support US workers.
Even when the *brand* is American, I’m trying to determine exactly where the product originates… “Made In/Prepared In Canada” vs “Prepared *For* Brand-Canada” to rule in/out various products
Worst part is that I WAS trying to prefer USA made product over other countries when no Canadian one were available. Now, USA made ones will not even be last on the list.
Agree in principle but not Saputo. They are in the process of destroying the Australian dairy industry and the economy of King Island through predatory and anti-competitive practices.
Ditto! Did you see the protests at SW Tesla dealership in PDX today? It was a good turn out, about 300pl, super peaceful and friendly. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next!
It is the only cheese we eat except for an occasional locally crafted cheese, so it's no sacrifice. It is good! If there is no local choice, then I'll bite the bullet of cost and buy Canadian.
I can’t get anything like Monterey Jack in the U.K. so I forgot how much I miss Tillamook. There was another soft cheese I used to eat in California, but can’t remember. Support Canada 🍁
Bob's Red Mill is just outside Portland. I miss when they used to have a store you could go to that was a really fun place to shop. Tillamook is, not too surprisingly, in Tillamook, Oregon. 😜
Americans buying these Canadian products will be paying the tariffs
Unfortunately I think this means Americans should stick to the “avoid” column even though the Canadian products look so much better (looking at you Green Beaver!)
Duuuude I live in Southern California. So much of our local farmers utilize immigrants who are avoiding work or waiting for ice.
I’m expecting by this summer we are not going to be able to get most of the local fruits we’ve become so accustomed to.. berries, oranges, not to mention veggies. 😕☹️😔😞😢🥺😭
Why did I assume small family farms would not have to deal with ice? Good point. I wonder if farmers would be open to customers harvesting their purchases?
Nature's Path gf waffles had a recall in October. The company that makes them makes ALL gf waffles that are store brands...Trader Joe's, Kroger, etc...they are in Canada. I'm allergic to wheat, dairy, egg whites & in US...guess this tariff will make it even harder to get them once they're back...
Support Mexico as well. Buying local helps the environment and your community no matter where you live. With the exchange rate widening most of us will think twice before visiting the USA.
Anything you buy that comes from Canada will make DonOld richer and proves his theory.
The whole point of the tariffs! Canadians will have the option to buy cheaper imports from Blue states.. bitter sweet situation but don't support products with higher tariffs!
That is why I said he was a felon to become a felon you must be convicted in a court of law ! Therefore the statement he is a felon automatically incorporates his conviction in a court of law !
The Unscented Company 🫶 not only for shampoo but lots also soap, dish washer tabs, laundry detergent, body lotion. They sell large packages and refills.
I second Quebec. Montreal is amazing in the summer, so many festivals. Quebec City is 3 hrs away but beware they're a little touchy w/non Frenchies ... but don't let that stop you from having a wonderful vacation :)
Quebec is amazing! Amazing food! Such a lovely city and wonderful people!
(Except for that one quebecoise guy. F**k that guy. You want to neg my French, that's fair, it sucks, but yours is worse. My friend's "horrible French"? Yeah, she grew up in Paris.)
Farmers were hit hard by the last Drumpf trade war and yet turned around and voted for the Orange Menace again. I hope they feel the pain even more this time. My state’s biggest trade partners?
#1 - Canada
#2 - Mexico
Hope these folks feel patriotic when they lose their jobs.
I too have reservations about this list. What we should do is avoid corporations but instead by local. I for one will never buy Kraft cheese. Of course I have the luxury of living in Wisconsin where local cheese is in my case blocks away.
I disagree with buying Walmart products since they support the mango mussolini. I'd go with the store brands, but I'd check to see their country of origin first.
Need this integrated into a more “shoppable” electronic format (similar to Amazon recommended cart). hard to remember to refer to this every time you shop
Yes! Our local chapter is wonderful. I offer up extra garden goodies and I grab things from there, refurbish and then re-gift through the same chapter. I've met some pretty awesome people, too.
Instead of boycotting Canadian brands focus on the companies you support who support Trump and his enablers! Check out this app if you want more information about the companies you support!!! Goods Unite Us/GUU
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it only matters, to the Orange Man, where the products are manufactured, not the owner of a company. So the Ford truck that we just purchased (made in Mexico) would have 25% tariff.
This is kind of the point of tariffs (have Americans buy American made products), but I don’t think we have the capacity (especially with even legal immigrants being deported) to make alternative products in the US.
But I want to support USA too, not boycott us. Can’t I have both and just not support this administration. Over half of registered voters did not vote Trump into office. We’re all being bullied by this guy.
Not a great list. Tim Hortons is American owned. PC has been price fixing groceries for decades and they're owned by the worst billionaire in the country.
Fun fact: this is why the big bad EU won't let most of your processed food in and forced your companies to produce them here.
Yes we treat the US sooo badly eh
Luckily I do most of my grocery shopping at Aldi which is already off brand. Very few things I buy at other stores are name brand and then it’s either because of dietary issues or because the value brand just doesn’t work
Donald Trump has officially declared through an executive order that everyone on Earth is transgender. He signed an executive order stating that sex is determined at conception. HOWEVER, every person on Earth develops sex at about one month AFTER conception. We ALL change gender at one month.

Growing up in Canada in the 60’s and 70’s I was as moved by your anthem as much as I was ours. I cheered for your teams and athletes if they weren’t competing against ours. All that has changed and it breaks my heart to say so.
Don’t forget your local farmers either. We buy our butter from our local farmers. You can get your eggs there too. And many many other things. Season permitting, of course.
I don’t know. The tariffs we’ll be paying for goods from Canada, Mexico, and China will go to our government. I’m thinking that will help the felon and his cronies.
I’ll admit the list is a bit weird, but many of the Canadian brands, like Presidents Choice and No Name, can’t even be purchased in the US. And Tim Hortons isn’t in any western states, AFAIK. It’s far more plausible that he shared a list that’s going around Canadian SM, for his Canadian followers
I'm sure that's the case, but a lot of this is weird American brands we don't get here. I don't think I've ever seen Oscar Meyer in a grocery store outside the US. And we don't get Tyson chicken. All our chicken is Canadian unless it's frozen nuggets or the like.
It’s definitely a weird list. A lot of the Canadian brands aren’t sold in the US- No Name, Presidents Choice, etc… and it also names brands to avoid that are grown and packaged in Canada, like Heinz Ketchup and Green Giant veggies (supporting Canadian farms and workers)
Well, to be fair, Heinz uses, or recently used to use, imported American tomatoes. If they've changed it, it was just recently, because a couple of years ago French's was making a big deal out of how their ketchup is made in Canada out of Canadian tomatoes. It was a whole boycott thing.
I’m Canadian, living abroad. Heinz turned that decision around very quickly, and has been using Canadian tomatoes completely since 2020 (for Canadian consumption), with the first full crop being in 2022. The Canadian plant closure happened a decade ago, and that’s when French’s stepped up.
Honestly this tariff situation is a reminder to renew our support for buying locally and stop supporting these large grocery chains that have been pricing you out as a consumer.

So many *Canadians* have US plates, or at least close family with US plates visting, that we can't assume via plate.

Thanks for thinking of us little folks, George.
Bring a quarter for the cart and if you see an empty box, grab it to pack your groceries in.
I discovered Aldi recently after I move because we don’t have a decent grocery store with good prices for miles. I love Aldi.

Question…how do I let the Canadians know that I’m not with him without scream it at the top of my lungs?
A simple stop sign with

We are flying into Vancouver from New York.
