I loved it when my kids expressed themselves. They had to decide if they were willing to put up with other people’s attitudes and how their appearance affected how they were treated. They ended up learning at lot about themselves and others and ended up stronger & kinder people as a result.

And for many years I thought the GOP wanted to reduce the government intervention in people's lives. How wrong we were. They want to control the people.
I guess it will come down to writing a series of regulations about exactly what a conforming haircut looks like. We had such things in the Navy. Hair no longer than three inches. Side burns down to the middle of your ear. Etc etc. But the military is not a democracy. It is a tool of democracy.
