Trump took credit for the economic gains in the early months of his first term, too, even though they were obviously just continuing a trend that was already in full swing during Obama's second. Politicians do this kind of thing all the time, annoyingly.
Somehow, every time I look up from writing this chapter, the dumpster fire to the south has gotten bigger. It's a little (read: a lot) alarming that I'm writing about a world based on magic and it is more believable than the claim made by the actual US Veterans Affairs Secretary.
Opened 10 VA clinics? I've heard from a lot of vets in my 58 years, they have never spoken about how wonderfully they are cared for or how cutting edge that care is. It's usually, "Well, I only have to wait 6 months for the appointment and then drive 2 states away to get there...". Murica!
