if only this infighting mattered for working people living life day to day. the fascist march towards disaster continues, mostly unabated. we need some very different action if we’re going to salvage what’s left. Mr. Takei is rad though, this is in no way a criticism of “op” :)
I don't believe his "jibber jabber", because he is also enabling that orange face behavior. My mother always say "action speak louder than words", until then. I don't believe nothing from his enablers.
The problem is Rand and the others on the right are opposed to this bill because it doesn’t go far enough in making the lives of poor people and children a living hell…
it a negotiating tactic. just ask Trump, it like tariffs. anything you can do to inflict as much pain on the other guy to make your position stronger. I was hoping we left this gamesmanship crap back in the 80’s with the cocaine.
You know the old saying "give'm enough rope and they'll hang themselves" hopefully it will come true. Meanwhile we resist and revolt with an uprising against tyrany and fascism. Fight! 💪 courage like our grandfathers fought Hitler. Fight shitler before it's too late
I *suspect* Rand Paul is in the camp that the cuts are not deep enough to justify the bill. Same with Musk (ugh).
Meanwhile, the GOP trots out the "waste, fraud and abuse" line, Trump tweets up a distracting storm and targets a single trans kids, all of which obscures the harm in the budget bill.
If GOP Congress thinks the deficit is a huge problem, why aren't they clamoring for the tariff income go directly to the deficit into a Trump directed expense fund? Congress controls the power of the purse so they should control the fund.
Remember GOP Rep's, Mike Flood's, constituents... the ones who chanted at the town hall "Tax the rich"...I hope they're reinforcing that message with Flood *and* making sure to tell their friends.
They're probably not the only conservatives who feel that way.
"Republicans slipped a provision into their big spending bill that would limit the power of federal judges to hold people in contempt, potentially allowing Trump and his administration to violate court orders without consequence."
Eh he’s just grandstanding. They don’t really care about constituents losing benefits like healthcare or education. What they really want to do is more fully gut the system-just not their own salary or healthcare.
We're truly in the upside down when Rand Paul is making more sense than anyone else in the Republican Party. Bear in mind that's a relative statement, not an absolute one.
They’re empty words. Just like Putin and Trump “sparring” over Ukraine. It’s a show. A distraction.
The Senate will approve the Bill because it is the votes, and Rand can continue to pretend he isn’t in the pocket with MAGA after all even if he votes against
I know we're not perfect by any stretch of he imagination, here in Canada, but for the love of fuck, USA, how do you allow something so fucking enormously dumb to happen twice? I still blink my eyes when I see this motherfucker called the prez of he US of Amnesia.
He represents one of the poorest districts in the nation. If he is seen to support cutting their federal assistance he's toast, and he knows it. But he also knows that almost no one pays attention to who votes for what. So don't be surprised if he bashes it before and after voting for it.
Saving all that money - just to hand it over to the wealthy, PERMANENTLY, while poor kids & seniors go hungry. Already, 1:4 kids are food challenged and they want to make it worse!! Hungry kids can’t learn. Uneducated people can’t support themselves or pay taxes. So, who’s stuck carrying the weight?
Yup, it’s not cruel enough for Rand Paul. He’ll scream about budget and deficit but what he wants is much deeper cuts to social services (or completely end those services)
It's just a matter of time that he will start losing peoples loyalty. Donnie makes most people mad, and maybe the the Republican party will finally see the impact this will have on the America people. This affects everyone, NOT just the Democrats!
Not just that but this “BBB” is giving trump “Kingly” powers by removing the Federal Courts’ ability to check him and reign his ass in. In essence, this “Bill” gives him ALL the Power the Constitution was written, specifically, to never allow, ever again in this Country.
Paul doesn't like the Big awful bill because it isn't awful enough.... NONE of these republi-CON senators who are opposing the bill dislike it because it hurts poor and middle class Americans.... doesn't cut enough! Moral bankruptcy to the core.
Selective editing. Right before clip starts you hear “cut spending.” Again, any conservative saying this bill is bad is not saying that because it is a morally reprehensible bill but because it is not morally reprehensible enough. False equivocation. Rand Paul is still a cunt.
And mean while the rest of Republicans are doing this "Big Beautiful Nonsense" - Taxing us on the top of our check through FDIC before income , taxing us on the purchases we make and taxing us on the money we have not even made yet ....That is a lot of taxing never done before in American history
They're never firm in their beliefs. They always fold after a new provision gets inserted for their campaign donors, or they're allowed to to dissent when leadership knows they have enough votes to pass.
You know the party has really gone to shit when mitch and rand have gone from the worst of the party to the best of the party without changing one bit.
I wouldn't get too excited about this...unlike Democrats, these disgusting republicans will quarrel in public for the show and then line up behind their orange master just in time for the all-important vote. This is performative.
Senator Paul I don’t care for but at least he is a true believer in what he believes. He is authentic to his believes not some conman with no known values or ideology. Donald Trump is a vessel for white supremacists and Nazis.
Agreeing with anything said by Rand Paul was ... was ... I know he's playing the game, but he said words and I said 'holy shit, that makes sense' and ... I... this isn't on my 2025 bingo card.
Also I heard a lot of talk from the republican critics about balancing the budget/not raising the debt ceiling but nothing about the massive oligarch tax cuts they’re proposing which are causing the issue.
i hope you’re right, but i do not see any kind of meaningful uprising on the horizon. the middle class will likely accept the enshittening of living conditions until the majority of the country is living like the poor have been living all along the disgraceful history of america.
Bullshit the Big Beautiful Bill Will Pass! This is all Propaganda to Make Us Believe, There Is MAGA Opposition to the Bill! Reality The Bill Will Pass The Senate! Game Over! Also, There will be No 2026 Election!🤢🖕🐂💩
Nah, they're doing the WWE thing where they bluster at each other until someone they both like less than each other walks into the ring; at which point, they'll link arms like they intended all along.
We let them fight each other, our job is to not forget that if the optics for the bill were good, Rand Paul would be gargling more nuts than a gay sex worker.
Comments
Will Rand Paul ... or Ron Johnson ... be our Goldwater?
GO Rand Paul??????
gulp
Though he’s medium heartless,
he’s not forgotten what conservative means like the dying GOP ~ doors gonna hit em in the ass 🐽 good riddance
Not eating the dogs
Just eating their own
He knows the crazy train is dividing the party. It has gone too far.
He’s a canary in the maga coal mine, he knows this isn’t going to end well
More rats will jump ship to salvage their political futures…
Less federal funds = less opportunity for him to pocket some.
Meanwhile, the GOP trots out the "waste, fraud and abuse" line, Trump tweets up a distracting storm and targets a single trans kids, all of which obscures the harm in the budget bill.

Meanwhile . . .

God damn i hate clickbait headlines
The Senate will approve the Bill because it is the votes, and Rand can continue to pretend he isn’t in the pocket with MAGA after all even if he votes against
Starting to get good finally
Or any of them
There will be slight hiccups like this, faux protestations
They'll all fall in line
ALL of them
Rand Paul routinely crawls back to his happy place supporting Trump‘s stupidity, and Robert Kennedy
Every single fucking Republican is part of this destruction of our government
Every time a Democrat says see look there’s one
It’s pretty fucking weak
Next up - The Free Ice Cream and Staying Up Late bill.
I HOPE KARMA FINDS YOU
AND HITS YOU HARDER
BY 10 FOLD !!
but presumably that leaves us with vance?
But it helps popcorn sales
Sadly, until then, it is just performance art - with all the realism as pro-wrestling
They're going to be delicious

NONE of the blah, blah, blah means anything until the vote that impacts us all.
Our (former) nation can be put back together... but not if the GOP participates...
Republicans are starting to wake up but it is not coffee they are smelling.
