My daughter found a mini boom box replica and my grandson asked her what it was. She explained and told her his dad used to have a huge one. He was so excited and had to go show Dad how he carried it on his shoulder 🤣
Used to bring a Bose Acoustic Wave Radio, a Philips MP3 disc player and a CD with 160 or so specially curated songs to work for 'Fun Friday'. The acoustics of the building were favorable for high-volume merry making 😉 Photos courtesy eBay and Etsy
It can put out clean and crisp sound even at the top of its considerable volume. I had to insure that the MP3 files were the best I could get, usually 320 kbps; that much I remember. That Bose could operate on its main rechargeable battery and ten D-cell batteries as a reserve. Fine times.
Yes, indeed. Rechargeable power pack; couldn't find a picture of the first generation pack. Also have the rugged carrying soft case for it. This picture is from an eBay listing. I ought to have gotten a collapsible hand truck for all of my gear but I was young and strong then.
I used to check out from the public library framed paintings (all copies) to hang in my apartment. I didn’t have the money to buy pictures to hang on the walls.
I still have a huge boom box from the 90’s…
I prefer old tech now.
I prefer(ed) buying physical cd/dvd/disks/cartridges/media and actually owning the product contained for however long it’s container lasts. (assuming you still have the player)

I remember when they first came out with this type of thing
Cost around 500 dollars in USA
back then it was pretty great.
… I had no idea!
