Blocklists are dangerous unless you know (I mean actually know) and trust the person running them. Once you subscribe, they can add more people and you will block them without knowing. There have already been cases of lists being set up under false pretences. It's ripe for abuse

They're useful for identifying a bunch of suspect accounts you can then check for yourself, though. You don't have to block all.

I'm happy to pre-emptively block objectionable accounts before they pollute my space. My pinned post here explains why.

They're also useful for smearing others unfairly, trust me I know what it feels like to be bullied on social media and it can happen all too easily.

Agreed, which is why I check before bringing out the block hammer. So far, the blocklists I have subscribed to have been bang on.

Ive already been alerted to one today which is someone's personal hatefest. In my experience drawing people's attention to specific offensive tweets is far more productive and fair.
