I am glad you did this. The cost of soon-to-be-stranded energy assets like pipelines and refineries would hit at exactly the same time as we have to pay for vastly increased wildfire resistance, decreased agricultural productivity, drinking water scarcity, etc.

Transition to a low-carbon energy system saves most people money. The reason it has been hard to move in this direction (and hard to sell) is because it costs specific shareholders (and their pet politicians) quite a bit.

Pipelines ARE bold climate action. Less emissions than alternative forms of transport, and Canadian petroleum extraction is among the most environmentally friendly on the planet. We don't live in a perfect world where we can get off Petro products tomorrow.

Not sure we need a full E-W grid. Perhaps an eastern grid, an AB/BC and also an MB/SK grid. Build smart. Balance various renewable resources.
