Today (May 16) is #EndangeredSpeciesDay ! There are a ton of endangered birds in the world whose populations have dwindled due to habitat loss and illegal pet trade.
I wanted to spread some awareness, so for every comment, I will talk about an endangered bird and share a donation link for them!

These birds are so amazing and I wish more people knew about them.

Can I make a wish? Would love to see vultures to be celebrated.
Great thread!
The Egyptian vulture has faced many threats including hunting and being poisoned by humans. They are known for their tool usage, holding rocks in their beaks to break open eggs! This is even observed in hand-raised birds, indicating an innate behavior.

and thanks for the fact. I didn't know that they use tools.
Another NZ bird that's currently endangered is the kea. They're one of the only parrots that live in alpine regions and occasionally prey on sheep for their fat. Unfortunately, bounties were placed on them after they targeted too many sheep farmers, leading to their decline.

The Vietnam pheasant is officially documented as critically endangered, but many believe it to be extinct from the wild, as a live specimen hasn't been seen in the wild since 2000. This was a photo I took of one of the ones being raised at the National Aviary!

Every endangered animal I know of in the middle-east came from other nation's regions and none of them were birds.
I am adding this bird to the many endangered middle-eastern animals I can think of needing support.
The bali myna is one of my personal favorite birds, with its strinking white plumage and blue mask. There are presumed to be around 50 individuals left in the wild, making it critically endangered.

The Australian Painted Snipe prefers wetland habitats with a thick underbrush cover, and are unfortunately a vulnerable population due to habitat loss from wetland drainage and livestock land usage.

The Chaco eagle is endemic to South America, and faces many threats including habitat loss there. They have been shot at due to the mistaken belief that they eat livestock, and have lethal run-ins with electrical poles.
There's also https://eagles.org, but they seem to mostly focus on Bald Eagles. https://eagles.org/donate/
