Today Cindy Hyde-Smith asked about disaster declarations MS is waiting for and requested assurance that FEMA will continue supporting MS as it has in the past. Kristi Noem answered that Trump's failure to respond shows why FEMA should be phased out.

How can any country that has a capable emergency response & management capability at the federal level walk away from wanting to strengthen it further and instead chooses to dismantle it? 🤦🏼♀️
I heard, “Yeah, you’re basically on your own. Dumpy the Treasonous Conman wants to put the responsibility for disaster relief on to the states, but he doesn’t want to give up any of the federal tax dollars. Good luck, and thanks for your continued blind support!”
Cindy BunchaLies just got to hear a bunchalies from Aunt Kristi…. Knowing she’ll be sent to the Colonies if she calls her out… and she’d rather let her people find out the hard way than have a moment’s courage.
I didn't have the sound up on the video clip, but thought it odd that rge Congresswoman would be smiling during this line of questioning. So disturbing ... but at least now it makes sense.
Imagine if some president chose to radically reduce the dollars available for federal emergency response then used whatever remained to reward political supporter states.
And we all know red states can take this on. But if they direct it back, they can also direct any funding, and we all know how that will go.
Emergency management "should be" non-politcal. But that's all it is with this administration.

“It won’t.”
Noem:
When a natural disaster occurs Americans expect the government to help the victims out.
It’s unconscionable that Trump cares more about tax breaks for the wealthy than helping people get back on their feet
But Trump has never heard of Project 2025, doesn't know what it is, and has nothing to do with it -- except for signing executive orders straight out of its pages.

Red states will now have to pay their own way.
Blue states can now concentrate their resources on just taking care of themselves. Yes, we pay taxes - FOR SERVICES.
Let Trump’s hunger games begin.
