Contrary to the prevailing rewrite of our history, all of the seceding states seemed to think the Civil War was entirely about slavery.

The Daughters of the Confederacy rewrote history and the way it was taught in school. Northern schools in the Northern states didn’t spend much time on the subject. Lincoln should not of been in such a hurry to bind up the wounds of our nation.

The white supremacist redneck racist confederate's Wil never get over losing the Civil War. The notion of a "Lost Cause" among some white Southerners, who view the Confederacy's defeat as a misfortune rather than a defeat, reinforces the idea that they haven't reconciled with the outcome.

In 2017, Texas tried (and failed) to force my 8th grade daughter to make a states' rights argument for the cause of the Civil War. Others gave in.
